Infrastructures: Military Facilities

Military engineering deals with national security and therefore, the importance is much more than any other general engineering works. MAA Thailand had provided “Detailed Design and Construction Supervision Consultancy Services” for The Royal Thai Air Force to establish the Air Defense System in southern Thailand. The system included:

  • One Southern Sector Operations Center including a blast resistant design with 600 deep reinforced piles, multiple roof layers for blast deflection and heavy gage rebar construction for ground attack defense as required by RTAF;
  • Three Radar Buildings located on the top of mountains to support the radar operations of the AN/FPS 130X Radars provided by Northrop Grumman with facilities including raised floors, 120 KVA UPS and 2 emergency generators, emergency fuel and water storage, transient voltage surge suppression, fire and intrusion alarms;
  • Twelve Long Haul Communications Buildings to accommodate staff housing as well as the functional needs of the program.
